Why are we unwrapping boxes early at the Parlour?

Twas two months before Christmas, And up on the first floor,
A creature was stirring, And heard a knock at the door.
The boxes were placed by the chimney with care,
Full of cabinets for craft that soon would be there.

The glass pieces were heated and blown hot-red,
While visions of ship-wrecks danced in Karlin’s head.
And Rachel by her kiln, and Marissa in her woolly cap,
Had just settled their brains for a cold winter's snap.

When out in Church Street there arose such a clatter;
we sprang from Katie's chairs to see what was the matter.
Away to the window we flew to see what next,
and there was Jim's pictures based on a text.

Seeing a ceramic dog playing in the snow,
we knew William had arrived below.
When, what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But a Rocket pizza, and Hugh full of cheer.

With walnuts and pecans, so beautifully filled,
we knew in a moment it must be Hannika’s world.
More rapid than thought her line drawing came,
And Brittany coloured, and created, and gave the occupant a name!

Now Herefordians! Now, visitors! Now, buyers and browsers!
Oh, Collectors! Oh, Cupids! Oh, daughters and sons!
To the top of the Street! To the top of the parlour!
Don’t dash away! Please stay! Enjoy it all!
